Portugal Destination Wedding Photography

Based in Sesimbra, serving Lisbon, Sintra, Comporta, Algarve, and across Portugal

For couples planning their wedding from abroad who want intentional, emotional images that feel natural and true to them.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Planning a wedding in Portugal from another country?
A couple walks down a charming cobblestone street in a historic European town with white buildings and string lights.

Planning a destination wedding comes with different challenges. Time zones, unfamiliar locations, and the pressure to get it right without being there in person.

I work with couples planning from abroad who want a photographer they can trust to guide the experience while keeping it relaxed and grounded.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Local presence. Destination experience.
Romantic couple shares intimate moments during outdoor photo session at historic building with stone columns.

I live in Sesimbra, just south of Lisbon, and photograph weddings throughout Portugal. Being based here means I understand light, travel timing, and how to build timelines that work in real locations, not just on paper.

You get the ease of working with someone local, paired with clear communication and preparation designed for destination weddings.

MY APPROACH

How I photograph WEddings
A romantic couple dancing on a cobblestone courtyard at sunset with warm golden light filtering through.

My approach blends documentary storytelling with gentle editorial guidance. I give direction when it’s helpful and space when the moment deserves it.

The focus is connection, not performance. Images that feel natural now and still feel honest years from now.

WHAT I HELP WITH

Support beyond photography
Black and white candid photo showing two people shaking hands and smiling at a brick building exterior.

Beyond photographing your wedding, I help with the pieces that matter most for destination couples:

  • Timeline guidance built around Portuguese light and locations
  • Portrait planning that does not pull you away from your guests
  • Location input for engagement sessions and elopements
  • A calm, organized presence throughout the day

This support is especially important when planning from another country.

Testimonials

As someone who tends to feel awkward in front of the camera, I wasn’t exactly looking forward to having pictures taken. I never imagined a photographer could really make a difference in that regard, but Melody totally proved me wrong. She just has this warm, grounded presence and you can tell she cares—not just in terms of the final product, but the whole experience. From start to finish she was tuned in and took the time to read the moment, which helped the session feel more relaxed, natural, even personalized. She was also extremely patient and flexible - my now husband arranged for a surprise engagement photoshoot and our timeline was totally thrown off. She waited around for us, without complaint. Then, on a whim, she agreed to meet with us the following day to take a few more shots before her flight home. As far as her work goes, I love how it doesn’t feel super generic. Some of my favorite pictures were the candid ones, the ones that photographers can’t have on a check list of shots to take, and the ones you have to have an artistic eye to even think to capture. Overall, I’m really happy with the experience - Melody went above and beyond and really helped make our engagement special.

Melody was amazing to work with! Not only is her work amazing but she is such a wonderful person!! We were dealing with some Lion's football and bitter cold weather scheduling constraints and she put us at ease and it all worked out perfectly. We got all the shots we wanted and more!! Her prompts and eye of what to capture are unmatched!!! WE LOVE OUR PICS! UPDATE!!!! Melody is just amazing. She did a boudoir shoot for me and it was SO FUN and the pictures turned out better than I could have every imagined. She also took some getting ready shots for us the morning of our wedding . She was so graceful and calm and really just added to our morning. We love the shots she got and look at them all the time!!!
